FOR FACIAL LINES AND WRINKLES

What is BOTOX®?

It is a drug produced by the spore’s bacterium Clostridium botulinum. BOTOX® is prepared from the botulin toxin ans is a revolutionary cosmetic and anti-aging treatment that has significantly transformed the field of facial rejuvenation. A minimally invasive procedure designed to temporarily enhance the appearance of facial wrinkles and provide a youthful, rejuvenated appearance. It relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles, achieve a smoother, more youthful appearance by safely and effectively reversing the signs of aging, resulting in a refreshed and rejuvenated look.

Injections help in treating hyperhidrosis. The toxin blocks the sympathetic nervous system, which produces sweat. It, in return, prevents the glands from producing more sweat. The injections are used in treating lazy eyes. After administering botulinum, it weakens the eye muscles allowing the eyes to straighten up, preventing squint.

BOTOX® is also used in treating chronic migraines. The toxin works by blocking neurotransmitters in transmitting pain to your brain.

Uses of BOTOX®

BOTOX® injections reduce the appearance of your facial wrinkles by relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles. It is used to address signs of aging. The injection can be administered in several parts of your face, including the forehead, eyebrows, nose, eyes, lips, chin, neck, and jawline. The injection can be used in treating strabismus. Botulinum toxin is administered in the eyes’ affected muscles to help both eyes line up in one direction. They may also result in a reduction of blurriness.

How is BOTOX® Administered?

Cosmetic denervation with Botox® is a simple and safe procedure. Utilizing a tiny micro-needle, a very small amount of Botox® is injected, very precisely, into several locations on the face. Because the needle is so fine and only a small amount of liquid is utilized, the pain associated with the injections is minimal. Most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite. No need for additional anesthesia, allowing you to immediately return to your normal activities, including the ability to drive yourself home or back to work. Some patients experience slight, temporary bruising at the injection site. This can be covered with makeup.

After Botox has been injected in a proportional amount, depending on the area treated, it starts working by blocking nerve transmission in skeletal muscle, nerve endings, the brain, and smooth muscles. It prevents the nerves from communicating with the muscles, so they cannot tense up. The effects are short-term but can last for months, depending on how it reacts in different people.

What are the effects of BOTOX®

The medical provider usually reduces the possibility of any long-term effects by thoroughly analyzing your medical history to avoid complications. The short-term results may differ from one person to the other. You can experience different effects from another person who received the same injection at the same time and from the same provider. After the injection, you can experience headaches and eye dryness. You are also likely to experience swelling, pain, and bruising in the place by which the needle was injected.

Even though not familiar, you can experience difficulties in breathing and muscle weakness. You can also develop vision problems. If you experience these effects for more than a week, seek medical attention to avoid long-term risks.
